This the bull shit I came across a matchmaking site. The guy in question lokked (from the tiny photo provided), to be a typical "southie" - his height was listed 5 feet 6inches, he was dark and not very good looking.
What enraged me extremely..(to the extent that I registered on that site to send a very harsh worded hate mail to the guy - just to discover one can't email the so called candidates) was :
- On what basis do they they have the f**king guts to ask for a "dazzling beauty" when their son has nothing to boast for in the looks department.
- WHy should they want a "very fair" girl, is that going to make her a better life partner?
- If they claim "the personality of the girl is main criteria" then why the hell do they want her appearance to be that?
- Are those girls who live a "simple and elegant" life the best partner for your son? What if she was fun loving - that means your loser son would be better off with a corpse. They are fair to the point of being pale, simple and quiet and elegant and have a great personality (or none, coz that would be ideal for your pathetic excuse for a progeny).
What irks me to no end is that there are just so many things wrong with this society of what I seem to belong to.
- Why the assumption that a fair girl would make a better wife or daughter-in-law? She could be a b*tch under all that alabaster skin - what if she separated you and your son? what if she refused to accept your way of life?
- Assuming the parent is savvy enough to communicate emails and online matrimonial services (it still remains to become more popular with the older generation), then why does he still stick on the ancient redundant and backward line of thought? How would the girl's appearance in any way affect her relationships?
- Which parent in their right mind would give away their "fair, beautiful" daughter to a candidate such as their son (who seemed to have no "prsonality" or "looks" or "appeal" of any kind)? Wouldn't they, going by the same logic (or a rather inane belief) want a smashing looker for their girl?
- The very idea of arranged marriages where one hardly knows what one's getting into (in terms of not only the spouse but the whole extended family) seems faulty. The very idea that a guy is more eligible because he works in the US is such balderdash that it's stupid. So what? So f**king what if he works there? Just another minion who probably has loads of educational loans and no creativity so to speak of.
This is so asinine. When will we progress? When will the "fairness" issue die? When will boys of India cut their umbilical cords?
