I wish...

One of my colleagues at work plan to visit London, Scotland and some mroe European countries for 3 weeks..Now thats some few lakhs of rupees..3-4 times more than my annual salary! I really wish I could, soem day visit all those places - England, Scotland, Ireland - with no pecuniary constraints. I woudl love to take the Jane Austen tour - since she is beyond compare my most favourite author and I love the scenic beauty in her books, so enamouring!
Hmm i really wish I could travel - all around the world - slowly at my own pace, not having to worry about how much money to spend. It would be so cool if I won some tour like that or airfare to those places!!
Ooooohhh if only there was some way that would happen..
I'm still planning my honeymoon - and we're aimimg for Australia - quite expensive - but I'd want it to be memorable you know..

Oh please? With a cherry on top? Pretty please? Can I have a nice tour around the world?

If I could just bop her!

Today I'm ashamed to read the response given to the research conducted below...
A full-time stay-at-home mother would earn $134,121 a year if paid for all her work, an amount similar to a top U.S. ad executive, a marketing director or a judge, according to a study released on Wednesday.
This lady - a so called member of the "hospitality industry" said that stay-at-home moms should not get paid..because it's nothing compared to having a job!! She said - I can't quote exactly coz i dont remember her exact words, that its tougher to have a job and take care of home and that its no big deal to be a "home maker". I was flabbergasted at this person's view!! If she had a high paying job, it does not give her the right to thumb-down non-working mothers!! The cheek! I wish i could bop her on her pretty botoxed face and slap her stiff! I bet she had never to worry about all household chores or coking or taking care of her childern (its a well known factshe is a Page 3 person..and the lifestyle she supports evidences an affulent one). I am enraged..so easily she dismissed being a full time mother! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!
When I look at Mel I comepletely admire the way she has come so far..and achieved so much!
Look at Heather! Does it look like she is any lesser than a working woman?
What the F*** was that b*it*h in the paper talking abt..
I'm going to update is post once i get her name!

Yawning existence

I have spent the last hour yawning away, thanks to a huge lunch which, in fell swoop, destroyed my feeble attempts at dieting. Lemme post the flower of the day..

Ok thats really pretty.
Here's the latest update - I'm trying on contact lenses and they make a huge difference compared to my specs! But wearing them is another story - my eyes reject them instantly and I wonder at the marvel of the human body - the eyes tried so hard to get the foreign object out- i cried for many minutes after trying them on! wonderful human body eh?
Another fun site..if you have time to fritter away knowing how much ketchup in a bottle..

Hello there..it me!

Well happy New Year everyone! (Those poor misguided souls who come to this blog for some refreshing entertainment, bits of gyaan..and any kind of fun..sorry its moved away). I'm getting bogged down with work - had my first meltdown for the year already! But I know this year is going to be full of action - warranted or not.

Here are some sites that are noteworthy - www.waiterrant.com - a very well written humorus and enjoyable look at a waiter's life. And for sheer time pass - www.i-am-bored.com

Maybe that should keep one busy for sometime!

Ciao people..

This world is just not fair.

Song as I write: Blue Danube Waltz by Johann Strauss.
Current book - Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farms - Kate Wiggin

As I surf through my daily fare of gossip and pics and blogs, I came across so many pics of the terrible devastation that was Hurricane Katrina. The hurricane might have passed, but the aftermaths stay on. We really hope and wait for the rescue to reach the people timely. It's unimaginable to see the helplessness and pitiful state of affairs, especially since resources seem to be reaching slower than anticipated, but what strikes me with a heart-rending force is all the loss of the lives of innocent, mute, utterly helpless animals. Pets, livestock, animals in shelters, the zoo, did they make it? In times of distress hujan life is measured much more valuable but still, to the pet-owner it must have been awful to know that some of his family could not be rescued (I would, my dog is as much loved than any member of my family). What of the countless strays? I felt that was the most terrible fate the animal could face.. the pics are so heartbreaking.
This says it all..

On a later note, this makes me feel better, somewhat
The Humane Society posts an update everyday on their site. They rescued hundreds of animals on Sunday, including 40 or so from the convention center area. Today they saved hundreds more. They were able to get to the MS areas earlier, basically all week, whereas they only were able to get into New Orleans proper on Sunday morning. And... many organizations have reported overwhelming calls and support of all kinds (monetary, volunteers, supplies, shelters, homes, etc) after their numbers were on Larry King and the plight of the animals more widely talked about. So hopefully this will continue and they'll be able to save as many as possible...and hopefully reunite many owners and pets.
